In the picturesque little town of Matala, just a few meters from the sea and just a few kilometers from the ancient ruins of Festos we have the beautiful Hotel "Zafiria".

In the 70 luxury rooms, each with its own bathroom, air-conditioning, balcony and telephone, you can feel as comfortable as being at home!

The Hotel provides a beautiful and comfortable terrace where you can enjoy breakfast or relax with a drink or have a snack. It has satellite TV and a computer corner with internet at your disposal. There is also a pool. Just across from the hotel there is a mini-market. The hotel is just a few meters from the sea.

There are historical places you can visit in the neighborhood but also quiet traditional villages and beaches like e.g. Agia Galini or Komos. Heraklion is only 60 minutes away by bus.

The mountains around Matala protect the village from the wind. Matala has a unique position between the chalk rocks. Its famous caves give a characteristic look at this romantic village. In the sixties, It was the famous meeting point of the hippies.
Nowadays the caves can be visited only during the day.
