Aghios Georgios

The beach of Aghios Georgios, the most popular beach of the island, is situated at just a short distance, south of the town of Naxos, Chora. Many alternatives for accommodation are available in the area around the beach and in the nearby Chora. There are a lot of sea front taverns and cafés with a nice view of the sea and the island of Paros. The long beach with the golden sand and shallow, warm sea has excellent organization. Well protected from the northern winds, the beach is ideal for families with small children. However, it is also nice for young people who will find here full facilities for swimming and sunbathing and for the fans of sea sports. When the wind is strong, the open sea is ideal for windsurfing. Sport centers for training in windsurfing and rental of the necessary equipment are also available.
